Category of Noncommutative CW complexes. III

We prove in this paper a noncommutative version of Leray Theorem and then Leray-Serre Spectral Theorem for noncommutative Serre fibrations: for NC Serre fibration there are converging spectral sequences with E terms as Ep,q = HPp(A; HPq(B,A)) =⇒ HPp+q(B) and Ep,q = HPp(A; Kq(B,A)) =⇒ Kp+q(B).

CW threshold characteristics of Coupled-Cavity VCSELs: experiment and model

We carry out a detailed characterization of CW threshold behaviour of Coupled-Cavity VCSELs with various radii of the ion-implantation and oxide apertures. We obtain modal threshold current maps and wavelength at threshold and identify four groups of lasers with qualitatively different behavior, i. e. lasing only on the short, on the long or on both short and long wavelength fundamental modes. ...

Additional cw FIR laser lines from optically pumped CH(2)F(2).

Twenty-five new, cw, FIR lines from CH(2)F(2), optically pumped by a CO(2) laser, have been found, using a variablecoupling, open-structure resonator. Accurate wavelength measurements have been made on the 47 known CH(2)F(2) lines. The new lines are fairly uniformly distributed over a wide range, from 105 to 1448 microm.

Induced Light-by-Light Scattering Experiment

During the Workshop Alexander Varfolomeev pointed out that light-by-light scattering at optical frequencies can be enhanced by use of a third laser beam [1]. Norman Kroll remarked that he had also considered this in the 60's [2]. Here we consider whether a 1-teraWatt laser, such as that built at U. Rochester for SLAC E-144 [3], could be used to perform such an experiment, and conclude that rate...

The preparation time in a scattering experiment

A quantum mechanical theory with time asymmetry intrinsic to states (or observables) features the concept of an initial time of the state and thus a preparation time of the physical system represented by the state. This special time is investigated in the context of scattering theory, where, in standard quantum mechanics, the physical meaning of a preparation time has remained obscure. In an ex...
